Coordinator(s) will perform or designate: training and recruitment of Soul Matters group facilitators; organize twice yearly recruitment of Soul Matters group members and assign them to groups; conduct quarterly facilitator meetings; via email send the monthly themes (provided by the minister) and appropriate session plans to facilitators; disseminate information from the Soul Matters subscription service; publicize UUCDC's Soul Matters program throughout the year; prepare budget and annual report; communicate on a regular basis with Spiritual Growth Team Leader; inform facilitators of service opportunities available for groups to perform (in consultation with Justice & Outreach Team Leader).

It is necessary to use email to communicate with Soul Matters facilitators. Facilitation skills are learned through training sessions and assisting as a co-facilitator in a group. Problem-solving techniques are developed in meetings with other facilitators and through training materials provided by the Soul Matters Network.
Training, assistance, and safety requirements:
One member of the facilitators group is in charge of training. Most responsibilities are shared by the facilitators. The coordinator ensures that all duties are carried out, but does not necessarily perform these duties him/herself. The coordinator serves as liaison with Congregational Care and Justice Outreach Ministry Team Leaders.
