While wrongful convictions cut across racial lines, a new report by the National Registry of Exonerations (NRE) has found that “judging from exonerations, innocent Black Americans are seven times more likely than white Americans to be falsely convicted of serious crimes.” Learn more about, and consider supporting, the work of the NRE, and other groups also working to exonerate the wrongfully convicted, such as the Equal Justice Initiative, and the Innocence Project.
