Tour Our Building

We are proud of our church building, which sits on nine acres at 145 W. Rose Tree Road in Media, Pennsylvania. 

UUCDC believes in radical hospitality and welcomes people of all backgrounds to worship during Sunday services. Join us for special events or rent our space for group meetings, ceremonies (such as weddings), concerts, and other occasions. 

There are two main levels to the building, the upper level (accessible by stairs or lift)—where you will find the church Sanctuary, office, Fellowship Hall, and several meeting rooms—and the lower level, where classrooms and the children’s Chapel are located.  

Here’s a quick tour of our facilities that can be reserved by UUCDC congregants or leased by outside groups.

Sanctuary 

This inspiring space on the upper level is where we hold services each Sunday and have other meetings and events, such as weddings. It features a wood-beamed cathedral ceiling and large windows that provide a view of our wooded grounds. This room is equipped with an assistive listening system and updated audio-visual (AV) equipment, such as cameras, which are used for Zoom sessions on Sundays, speakers, and projectors with mounted screens. In 2023, the church installed air conditioning.

The capacity of the Sanctuary is 220 people.
Fellowship Hall 

Congregants gather here, on the upper level, between the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services for coffee hour, as well as use the room for other meetings and events. The architecture and views from this facility are similar to that of the Sanctuary. The room is equipped with an assistive listening system and updated audio AV equipment, such as speakers and a wall-mounted monitor with HDMI ports.

The capacity of Fellowship Hall (with kitchenette) is 120 people.
Chapel

This more intimate room is located on the lower level and is adjacent to two classrooms. Seating may be arranged to suit the needs of the church group or lessee. It is equipped with a wall-mounted monitor, HDMI ports, and a DVD/BluRay player.

The capacity of the Chapel is 50 people.
McClennen Room

This smaller space on the upper level is named for long-time UUCDC member Bob McClennen, who “signed the book” in 1968. It is equipped with a wall-mounted monitor, HDMI ports, and a DVD/BluRay player.

The capacity of the McClennon Room is 25 people.
Youth Room 

This meeting space on the upper level is equipped with a wall-mounted monitor, HDMI ports, and a DVD/BluRay player. 

The capacity of the Youth Room is 15 people.


The Owl’s Nest and Lower Classroom 2

These lower-level classrooms are used for children and youth Religious Education (RE), such as Sunday School and, for other meetings.They are equipped with wall-mounted monitors, HDMI ports, and DVD/BluRay players. Chairs may be taken to classrooms for meetings. They must be returned after the meeting.

The capacity of Owls Nest is 15 people.
The capacity of the Lower Classroom 2 is 15 people.

The UUCDC campus includes the Memorial Garden, where congregants can purchase small plots to have their cremains buried.
