Becoming a member of UUCDC means that you are making a commitment, both to our congregation and to Unitarian Universalism.

All are welcome to attend Sunday services and participate in other activities of our community, but because our congregation operates independent of any central authority, formal members set the course for the congregation and make decisions affecting everything from the selection of our minister to how we spend our money.

Membership enables you to vote at congregational meetings and to run for elected leadership positions. More importantly, it helps to create a feeling of belonging, of ownership, and of accountability—qualities that make participation at UUCDC richer and more rewarding.

If you would Ike to join UUCDC as a member, participate in Starting Point, a program designed to provide newcomers with the opportunity to experience Unitarian Universalism, rather than just hear about it. It is a four-hour session, typically on a Saturday, and includes prep-work and resources. During it, we focus on our personal spiritual journeys and the historical journey of Unitarian Universalism and UUCDC. We talk about the shared journey we travel together, which includes listening to one’s deepest self, opening to life’s gifts, and serving needs greater than our own.

Once you’ve participated in Starting Point, you’re eligible to become a member of UUCDC at any time you choose.

Sessions are scheduled throughout the year.  For more information, please contact the church office.
