Reap joy from what you sew with the UUCDC Connecting Threads Quilting Group.

It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced seams-person or new to the craft, all are welcome. The main activity of the group is to create quilts for the church’s graduating high school seniors, which receive them at their annual bridging ceremony in June. The quilters also create quilts for children up to two years old who are welcomed into the church and to the winner of the church’s NAACP scholarship.

The group has most of the equipment required; it just needs labor—people who are willing to iron, cut, and sew straight lines. Most of this work can be done by those with limited or no experience because master quilters guide members through every step. For the 2023–2024 church year, it normally meets on the second Saturday of the month, with exceptions, in the Chapel. For a meeting schedule, head to the church calendar. To join or for more information, contact the group coordinator.
