adopt a family

Brighten the holidays for your neighbors in need.

In the fall, UUCDC supports both the Delaware County Children & Youth Services Holiday Program and the Community Action Agency of Delaware Co. by providing gifts, gift cards, cash, and food for families selected by these groups.

adopt a family

Our 2024 program supports Children and Youth Services and Community Action Agency of Delaware County.  Each agency has provided families in need for us to purchase gifts, clothing, and food for.  Please see our signup sheets in Fellowship Hall or sign up online here.

Ways to Donate:

  • New gifts and clothing, wrapped for the families
    • Toys/Gifts/Clothing/Personal Items
    • Gift Cards from Walmart, Target, Visa, Mastercard
  • Food Gift Certificates from Acme, Giant, Shoprite
  • Cash or Checks made to UUCDC with Adopt-A-Family in the memo (we will donate directly to the organizations)

Ways to involve your family:

Pick out a toy or game that your child would like to share with another child.

When buying gift cards it can be a great opportunity to discuss how much help this can provide to a family in need.

Instructions:

Please sign up with your name/email address on the Google Sheet linked above.

All gifts should be wrapped and marked with family/child name.

Gift cards should be labeled with family/child name and dollar amount.

You can drop off on Sundays or during the week on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays. Gift cards will be kept in the lockbox in the church office.

Your contributions are needed more than ever as we continue this program, which began four decades ago, in this post-pandemic time. Watch this page and Connections for more information about specific needs and how to contribute as the holidays approach.

Contact the program coordinator with questions.

If you are in need this holiday season, please reach out to Children and Youth Services or the Community Action Agency directly.  You can also go to findhelp.org for local resources.
