Adults are invited to explore their personal faith and learn something new through our Adult Faith Formation Classes.

Courses are added throughout the year, so please check back regularly and pay attention to the Connections e-newsletter for the latest updates.

We are always looking for volunteers to teach or facilitate faith formation classes. Please let Chrissy know if you’re interested in this.

Winter/Spring 2026 Course Offerings

New to UU

The New to UU class offers an introduction to Unitarian Universalism and UUCDC. Join us for a morning of learning, inspiration and camaraderie. We will focus on our personal spiritual journeys, the historical journey of Unitarian Universalism and everything you always wanted to know about life at UUCDC. The next class is Saturday, January 31 from 9:00 am to noon. A continental breakfast will be offered. Register here.

Coming of Age for Adults

“Coming of Age” for Adults is a 5-session series designed for adults of all ages to explore their spiritual journey and religious identity. It mirrors the COA course that we do with our teens at UUCDC. You will reflect on how you got to now, engage with texts as they relate to your spiritual life, and craft a statement about who you are as a person of faith.

The course, led by Chrissy Bushyager, meets once a month on Saturday mornings and culminates in a Sunday morning worship service where participants will be invited to share their faith statements, or credos, with the congregation. Register here.

Ongoing Groups

Soul Matters

Want to connect with others while exploring our monthly themes? Soul Matters small groups provide an opportunity for personal growth, learning, and fun in community.

New Soul Matters groups will form in the fall of 2025.

Tarot Group

Join other tarot practitioners as we learn, explore, and share together. Each month we will explore an aspect of tarot practice, try a new spread or activity, and collaborate on readings. This group is open to everyone who has interest in tarot.

First Saturday of the month from 9:30-11:30 am in the Chapel at UUCDC.  Bring a deck of cards and your tarot journal if you have them. Newcomers are always welcome!

Spanish Conversation Group

Venga UUsted!
Let’s build on our Spanish language skills together in this fun conversational group which strives to break barriers and build community. We’ll discuss current issues related to migrant justice, Latinx culture in the US and abroad as well as swap stories about our own lives and/or our favorite recipes, short poems, articles, podcasts, art etc.
Join other Spanish speakers/learners for a conversation practice. This is not a beginner class. Participants should be able to string together ideas in conversation.

The group will be led by Liz McDyer and Kat Smith and meet on the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30 – 8 pm in the McClennen room.

Please register here.

UUCDC Poetry Jam

You are invited to a monthly gathering to write and share poetry. All are welcome, from beginners to published poets! This will be a safe, supportive environment where we can help each other grow. Our best work comes straight from our hearts.

Sheila Fox, member of the Mad Poets Society, will facilitate the group. She has been writing poetry all her life and is currently working on a poetry chapbook. She believes that everyone can be a poet!

This open-enrollment group meets in person on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month from 1-2:30 pm.  Register here.
