Living and Adapting in a New Age
Reverend Ed: In the course of my ministry, I have encountered two big periods of crisis and upheaval. The first was 9/11 and the second was the covid pandemic. The time we have now entered is, in my opinion, on the scale of those events but takes the form of a more diverse threat: a mixture of disruptive politics, natural events related to climate change, a radically changing role of the media, and a quickening pace of change generally. I think it is important to face this new reality and consider our response to it. We do not want to be absorbed by the anxiety the times we live in can create. Nor do we want to put our heads in the sand and pretend it all isn’t happening. We want to find ways to constructively engage with all that is happening. We also want to understand the tremendous value of our community right now and how we can support and care for one another. This Sunday I will share my thoughts about these issues as we all consider ‘where do we go from here?’ I look forward to seeing you Sunday. And I may reveal my exclusive Super Bowl prediction this Sunday.
In-person worship services are held in the Sanctuary at 9:30am and 11:15am. The 9:30 service is also available via Zoom with an online order of service. All are welcome.
