Congratulations, Rev. Laura!
November 14, 2025
Congratulations, Rev. Laura! When we first welcomed Rev. Laura to UUCDC, they were in Preliminary Fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA).
Preliminary Fellowship is granted to new ministers after completing seminary, internship, or other pastoral education, and passing a preliminary review by the Ministerial Fellowship Committee (MFC).
Full Fellowship is the final credentialing status a UU minister can achieve. It is awarded after several years of successful ministry, three satisfactory annual renewals of Preliminary Fellowship, and a final evaluation by the MFC.
Last week, Rev. Dr. Laura Solomon was awarded Full Fellowship with the UUA! This recognition signifies that Rev. Laura has met all qualifications to serve as a fully credentialed UU minister. Please join us in celebrating their remarkable achievement!
Congregational Update
Over the past few weeks, many members have stepped forward to help during this interim period following our administrator’s departure. We are deeply grateful for your generosity, patience, and teamwork as we navigate this transition.
The Board, HR Team, and staff are collaborating closely to identify our congregation’s needs and priorities as we prepare to search for the next administrator who will best serve UUCDC’s future. To assist us in discerning our needs and accurately evaluating the job description, we are in the process of hiring an interim administrator. We anticipate this person will be with us for a very limited time (approximately 3 months) to help us put new administrative systems in place so we can better imagine what we need, what we want, and how we can be best poised for health and growth. Rev. Laura will have an update soon about this hire!
We appreciate your continued understanding if our responses are slower than usual, and we will reach out for additional help as our needs become clearer.
Upcoming Events at UUCDC
The Chili, Chocolate, Home Brew Challenge, on November 22, is fast approaching, and the organizing team needs your help to make this FUNdraiser a success!
We still need a few more volunteers to staff ticket and beverage tables, make salad, and bake cornbread. Each volunteer role takes less than an hour of your time. Contact Kelli Schweitzer if you can help. Come to sample all of the amazing creations! Everyone is welcome to attend — no UUCDC membership required. Help us share the spirit of love and fellowship that defines our community by inviting others to the table.
