Collective Principles of Our Faith
Recently, our interim minister, Rev. Ed Brock, spoke of his personal guiding principles (see Words of Wisdom below) from the perspective that all people are free to create their own by which to live. We, as Unitarian Universalists, are also bound by values we hold in common, the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism, to which UUCDC added an eighth. Periodically, UUs come together to reexamine those values and update them. The most recent effort is a revision of Article II of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) bylaws to replace the seven principles with values centered on love. This Sunday, February 4, three church members as well as Rev. Brock, will share their reflections on Article II and its importance to our religious life.
