Rejection and Acceptance

The idea of radical acceptance is at the core of the history, values, and traditions of Unitarian Universalism. In theory, we embrace everyone and wear this as a badge of honor. We live, however, in a society in which rejection appears frequently and affects the lives of many. What does it mean to really, truly, accept someone? And what does it mean to be rejected, and how does that impact us emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically? Do we really understand what being a community of radical acceptance means and entails? This Sunday, March 3, Rev. Ed Brock, our interim minister, will explore the meaning of radical acceptance, our role as a community in achieving it, and the powerful impact rejection has on us.
