Y is for You

YOU are a UU theologian!  Our 4th principle affirms the free and responsible search for truth and meaning that each of us undertakes. We have no single holy text, required catechism, or spiritual practice. Each of us is our own theologian–our own expert on truth and meaning. Together, we can share our ideas, learn from one another, and continue to deepen our understanding.

How do you embark on the free and responsible search for truth and meaning?

One way to think about the way we construct and engage with theology is through Rev. Forest Church’s metaphor of the Cathedral of the World. You can read his essay or watch Rev. Jo summarize it here.
