This month the theme of the Soul Matters groups is deep listening. This Sunday, October 13th, Rev. Ed Brock will engage with this subject by reflecting on what it means to listen. For most of us quite often listening fails to be an opportunity to genuinely understand someone. This has a social impact. In April of 2023 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released a report titled “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation,” describing that about half of U.S. adults reported experiencing measurable levels of loneliness – many people have no one to talk to. This Sunday Rev. Ed will talk about two people who exhibited the power of listening and why it matters. We look forward to seeing you Sunday.
